Screenshot organizer
Turn your book screenshots into a reading list
If your camera roll is full of book covers, Reddit threads and TikTok recommendations you meant to look up later, you can upload them here. ShelfGarden suggests which books are in each image, you check the results, and the ones you keep go onto your shelves.
How it works
- Step 1
Pick the images
Choose screenshots from your phone or computer. ShelfGarden only sees the files you select, and you preview them before anything is sent.
- Step 2
It finds the books
An AI model reads each image and lists the titles and authors it can see. Those are looked up in ISBNdb, a book database, for covers and details.
- Step 3
You review
Every result waits in Review. Accept it, correct it, or reject it. Nothing is added without your approval.
- Step 4
Onto a shelf
Approved books go to the shelf you choose. Books found more than once count as extra recommendations instead of duplicates.
What it can read
Book covers
A photo or screenshot of a single cover, or a stack or shelf with several books in one image.
Recommendation posts
Lists in Reddit threads, TikTok captions, group chats and articles, where the title and author are written out.
Where it struggles
Blurry photos, cut-off titles, books mentioned only in passing, and very new or self-published titles that aren't in the database yet. That's why you review everything.
Your screenshots aren't kept
ShelfGarden never asks for access to your photo library and never scans your device. Images are re-saved in your browser before upload, which removes location and camera details.
Each screenshot is kept only until you finish reviewing it, and no longer than 7 days, then it's deleted. The text read from it isn't saved either. Your shelves keep the book, not the image. The privacy policy and how we use AI have the details.
Free and paid
Your shelves, books, ratings and notes are free and have no limit. Screenshot reading costs us money for each image, so a free account includes 25 screenshots in total. A paid plan with a bigger monthly allowance is planned but isn't on sale yet. If a screenshot fails to process, it isn't counted.

Clear out the screenshot folder
Create a free account, upload a few screenshots, and see what it finds. You approve every book.
